Magician or Manipulator? Coach Red Pill Gimme Some Truth
  ⋅  Author : Mael Duin  ⋅  2022-05-05

In the wake of a broken relationship I spent many nights examining its broken pieces descending YouTube rabbit holes seeking answers for a broken heart. I discovered and explored some MGTOW stuff for the first time. Although I could see the validity and sympathise with some of their arguments it was essentially encouraging men to give up on women and go their own way. I wasn’t willing to give up on women; I just wanted to know why things went wrong with this woman and to learn from it.

The teacher I was searching for came along in the form of a YouTube channel called Coach Red Pill. “Coach” was a middle-aged American (actually from Chile) living in Ukraine who spoke eloquently, enthusiastically and with experience. Sat in his chair speaking to a camera set up from different angles he began to speak about the one question a man needs to ask a girl when he starts dating.

“Ask her what her relationship with her father was like”, he asserted. You’d have to draw that information out casually and subtly but at the earliest opportunity, he explained.

His broad rationale was that if a girl had a bad relationship with her father then she’ll have a bad relationship with you – so you should run the fuck away. You see, the girl who I’d just ended the relationship with had grown up with an alcoholic father. And now she had an alcohol problem. Obviously, this made for a dysfunctional relationship between us, just like the one she was raised in. Ecstatic highs turned to despairing lows and I’d decided this wasn’t what I wanted my future to be.

“Coach” was only highlighting the need for men to be aware of women with ‘daddy-issues’. Nothing ground-breaking there, except for fools like me. But his life advice for young men was cocky and politically-incorrect. On a spectrum it would be the opposite side of woke culture. It was a bit like how the auld fellas talk down at the local boozer, a provocative version of Jordan Peterson with jokes. I didn’t always agree with everything he said but it was always thought-provoking. I subscribed to the channel and continued to watch his content over the years.

Then the war in Ukraine started.

Coach Red Pill naturally started speaking about the turmoil surrounding him and switched to posting content under his real name, Gonzalo Lira, the Chilean born, dual American citizen who had a career in filmography and a wife and children in Ukraine. He became an on-the-ground source of information. And just as his previous videos had been unapologetic and counter to social narratives, his views on the war were too.

The western mainstream media portrayed Ukraine’s president Zelensky as heroic; Gonzalo portrayed him as the head puppet of a thuggish regime. The western media stated Russia was losing the war; Gonzalo stated Russia was winning the war decisively. The western media stated Russia was committing war crimes against citizens; Gonzalo explained why these claims are propaganda and that the Russians were conducting the war with more care than the Americans had in Iraq (with some justification when considering the US carried out more airstrikes in the first 24 hours of the Iraq invasion as part of shock and awe than Russia have in Ukraine to date).

Then Russian media picked up and broadcast one of his clips, which Gonzalo had created as he walked through the streets of a deserted Kiev. He appeared worried for his safety only because military-grade weapons had been handed out “willy-nilly” by Zelensky to anyone and anybody, so criminals now roamed the streets with AK-47s. An American in Kiev criticizing the Ukrainian government worked well for the Russian state narrative.

This incident put him on the radar in Ukraine. He was caught up on a visit to Kiev when the invasion started and had been staying at a hotel. The manager of the hotel was made aware of his presence and the video broadcast by Russian media so told Gonzalo to pack his bags because Putin propagandists were not welcome. He had to make his way across the country back to his home city of Kharkiv, where the war’s contact line was and where he discovered that SBU agents (the Ukraine security services) had been looking for him at his home.

Gonzalo went to ground, moving his location but continuing to publish videos from unidentifiable locations only now in tones much more hostile towards his would-be captors, or “Zelensky goons”. Air raid sirens could be heard in the background of his videos and he appeared on edge at noises that sounded like it could be somebody at his door. His content must have hit a nerve because it wasn’t long until The Daily Beast published an article about him.

Gonzalo put out a video claiming that, because of his precarious situation in a war zone, the article by The Daily Beast openly calling him a “Pro-Putin shill” could lead to him being killed. He told his followers he would always post within a 12 hour period so that they knew he was safe otherwise you could assume he’d been picked up and that his name could be added to the list of other people accused of supporting Russia who’d gone missing. He continued to speak out and his audience rapidly grew.

Gonzalo published a video titled Propaganda BTFO, which really did blow the fuck out of a propaganda operation by the west. It involved video clips portraying Ukrainian forces – including American volunteers – in the aftermath of different battles that allegedly left burnt-out Russian tanks littering the landscape. It was a convincing argument that the set of different video clips, posted and shared extensively across social media, had in fact all been shot in the same location; but from different angles – with the destroyed tanks being Ukrainian, not Russian.

After a few more weeks of going against the narrative, Gonzalo posted to his Telegram channel on Good Friday… and then nothing. Days of radio silence began to pass and the concern for him began to grow.

Disturbing posts on Twitter soon began to circulate. These included a gloating claim from a trans-gender Daily Beast journalist, on the ground in the same city as Gonzalo, that he had been arrested by the authorities. Then, known Azov Battalion members made posts on Twitter claiming to know where he was and that a beheading video might pop up on Telegram soon.

Many people feared the worst and some, including myself, came to the conclusion that it seemed as though Gonzalo had met an awful fate.

The unconfirmed rumours of his death began to circulate widely amongst the alt-media channels. He was a no-show for a pre-scheduled interview with George Galloway on his RT broadcast show – with Galloway raising his concerns for Gonzalo’s safety on his show. Other than RT, no other major international media coverage was given to the disappearance of an American citizen in Ukraine. This enraged many and a #Whereisgonzalolira campaign grew all the way to the level of Glenn Greenwald, the journalist who broke the Edward Snowden story.

No sooner had Greenwald brought Gonzalo to the attention of his 1.8m followers and exactly a week since he vanished – a discombobulated Gonzalo briefly reappeared live on The Duran podcast. He explained that he’d been picked up by the SBU, that he was under investigation and forbidden from leaving the city, but that he was well. This was a great relief for anyone like myself who had been following this emotional rollercoaster of a story. The delight could be seen by most people across Gonzalo dedicated chat spaces all day long. But a minority felt the story was fishy, questioning if it had all been a big con to gain attention and began to wonder if we had all been manipulated.

A man of moral conviction or manipulation?

“Behind the propaganda ministries, the controlled press briefings, the censored news, and the artificially orchestrated political rallies lies the face of the Magician as Manipulator.”

– Moore and Gillette: King Warrior Magician Lover

It seems our age is one of distrust and deceit. It could be argued it’s always been this way. But the information age has taken it to new levels. The onus is on the individual to parse fact from fiction, fake news from fair views.  The spectre of nuclear war is menacing the world for the first time in decades, a technological threat imposed on humanity thanks to the work of the Shadow Magician. His grip on modernity is overbearing and war is a time when the shadow archetypes dance. The extreme amount of energy that goes into war brings the Tyrants, Sadists, and Manipulators within men to life. The first weapons wielded by the Manipulator are lies and propaganda.

The Daily Beast article took aim at Gonzalo and ran with the headline, “How a Sleazy American Dating Coach Became a Pro-Putin Shill in Ukraine”. To shill is to be a plant for an organisation and to manipulate an audience to the benefit of an organisation. The article completely frames Gonzalo as a Manipulator being paid to peddle Russian propaganda.

The article publishes quotes from independent experts refuting Gonzalo’s claims about war in Ukraine as “non-sense”. Alexander Motyl is credited as an “expert on Ukrainian affairs at Rutgers Universty” and seems to be responding to what boils down to Gonzalo’s personal interpretations of the available data about the war. There are three unsupported and unexplained retorts included from Motyl, who states, “it’s far more likely Ukranians see the world around them, contrast it to Lira’s narratives, and conclude that he’s deranged and harmful.”

The article continues, referencing another “Ukrainian affairs expert” who assumes Gonzalo is “likely a fictional persona created by the Kremlin to spread its message.” But with no evidence to support this the publication needs to legally cover its back and makes sure to include the following: “Lira is not fake. Nor is there any evidence that he’s a paid Russian agent. In fact, he’s actually attempted to publicly distance himself from propaganda content that uses his clips.”

At this point, it’s fair to say The Daily Beast is employing gaslighting; “Look at this Russian shill. We’re not saying he’s a Russian shill.” You can read through the article for yourself and make up your own mind. It seems a true hit-piece, short on substance and heavy on insinuation, that helps to paint a target on the back of a man in an active war zone (although The Daily Beast doubts that Gonzalo is really in Kharkiv).

“Whenever we are detached, unrelated, and withholding when what we know could help others, whenever we use our knowledge as a weapon to belittle and control others or to bolster our status or wealth at others’ expense, we are identified with the Shadow Magician as Manipulator.”

– Moore & Gillette: King, Warrior, Magician, Lover.

Without any solid evidence, The Daily Beast wants its readers to believe that Gonzalo Lira is a liar and a manipulator. But why?

A quick look at the website AllSides.com, which rates media outlets on bias, pegs The Daily Beast far out to the left of the political spectrum.

Although The Daily Beast maintains that they are “Independent,” their reporting has grown increasingly partisan. During the 2016 presidential election, AllSides started to note the shift, but waited to see if it was just a momentary phase. However, a year after the election of President Trump, the Daily Beast’s articles are still heavily biased.

It seems the crime of Gonzalo Lira, in the eyes of The Daily Beast, was simply painting a completely different picture of the war in Ukraine than that portrayed in the western media.

A man accessing the Magician in His Fullness spreads awareness and insight, speaking the truth no matter what the consequences are to himself. He knows to intentionally propagate a lie is to abuse those listening. Lying warps minds into a false worldview, obliterating trust. Trust is the fabric that holds societies together. Without trust, relationships die and civilizations fall.

“Many human magicians, in whatever profession or in whatever walk of life (occult practitioners as well), are consciously using their knowledge and technical proficiency for the benefit of others as well as themselves.”

– Moore & Gillette: King, Warrior, Magician, Lover.

As Coach Red Pill, Gonzalo Lira was providing advice to young men – he was accessing the Magician energy to turn raw experience and insight to the advantage of others. This is a clear example of a man accessing the Magician in His Fullness.

When his personal context was flipped, to a war he was caught up in – he simply used his energy to scan the horizon of the crisis and interpret the data coming to him from both the outside and the inside claiming to explain events how he truly sees them. In the middle of a propaganda war, where people are either too trusting of one side or don’t trust a thing that they hear, Gonzalo claims to be an independent source of opinion, caught up in the war, saying things that make him unpopular within the country he resides and putting himself at risk.

It’s said that the Magician often comes on line in a crisis. It was clear to anybody who had watched Coach Red Pill content over the years that during the outbreak of war and especially after he was kicked out of his hotel in Kiev and returned to a besieged Kharkiv, this was a man under stress. The stress of being in a war zone, of being hunted by authorities and of making life-defining decisions, like to flee Ukraine or stay put. Gonzalo explained that he had decided to stay put, see the war through to the end, and continue to produce content with his commentary.

Clear, careful thinking based on inner wisdom and technical proficiency is a hallmark of a man accessing the Magician in his fullness.

“Pushing lies, pushing false information… I just don’t get that mentality at all.”

– Gonzalo Lira: Russia AND the US Miscalculated In This War

Can Gonzalo Lira be trusted to be telling the truth? That’s for each of us to come to our own conclusions. The Daily Beast came to theirs and I would suggest, as master manipulators themselves, whose craft it is to twist stories to fit their far-left narratives, their hit-piece on Gonzalo was a case of shadow projection. The title of that article could be reversed to read: The Daily Beast Is a Pro-War Shill and a Politically Manipulative Mainstream Media Mouthpiece.

Gonzalo’s refusal to flee Ukraine, even when his safety is at risk from both war and the Ukrainian groups he speaks against, preferring to see it through to the end, is similar in sentiment to that of Viktor Frankl, the German Jew who survived the Nazi concentration camps. In his classic book Man’s Search for Meaning, Frankl spoke of the opportunities he had to escape the camp but instead preferred to “not try to influence it [fate] in any way, but instead let it take its own course.”

The Death of Socrates (1787) by the French artist Jacques-Louis David.

What we have with Gonzalo is a man offering his opinion, at personal risk, from within a war zone. Even after his detainment by the SBU, he is continuing to appear on podcasts and speak against the mainstream narrative that dominates in the West. In these times when truth is crucified before our eyes each day, the soul recognises when somebody speaks from the heart. In a recent appearance on The Duran podcast I believe he spoke the words, of not only a Magician in his fullness, but of a man in his fullness. Could you disagree with this?

“I just have to say, on a personal note… I’ve seen so many videos of so many young men who died for nothing and it just breaks my heart.

I’m a middle-aged man and I know the distance between my age, 54, and being 20. And it’s a lifetime. A boy of 20-25 who loses his life – it’s a catastrophe. And all of these young men have lost their lives and the worst part is that they were so valiant and brave for nothing.

To protect a regime of thieves and liars and drug addicts. That’s the thing that breaks my heart… for something that could have been solved, that did not need to happen.”
